What Is The Missouri First Responder Provider Network?
The First Responder Provider Network (FRPN) is a dedicated resource for first responders aimed at supporting the mental and emotional well-being of first responders, including police officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, correctional staff, and other emergency service workers in the state of Missouri. The Missouri Crisis Intervention Team (MO CIT) Council created the network in 2018 to address the critical need for specialized behavioral health services tailored to the unique challenges and stressors faced by first responders.
The FRPN connects first responders with a network of licensed and trained mental health professionals who are skilled in addressing the specific concerns that may arise from working in high-pressure, traumatic environments which may include depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), relationship challenges, and other behavioral health concerns. FRPN providers are vetted by first responders, receive specialized training, and are culturally competent, meaning they are sensitive and aware of the distinctive culture and norms of the first responder community.
The services offered by FRPN providers are confidential, ensuring first responders can seek help without fear of judgment or negative professional repercussions. The network’s mission is to enhance access to behavioral healthcare services that are both culturally appropriate and high quality. By doing so, we aim to improve the overall well-being and resilience of first responders, which is essential for maintaining public safety and effective emergency response services.
What You Can Do To Help
Unfortunately, the FRPN did not receive GR funding for FY26 and has no other source of funding at this time. We are requesting your assistance to help us continue the life-saving work of the FRPN and further our mission ensuring first responders in Missouri receive the critical mental and emotional well-being support they need to serve our communities.
