Bio
Annette Jansen is a Licensed Professional Counselor and owner of StrongLine Counseling, a private practice dedicated to serving first responders, their spouses and families. Before becoming a therapist, Annette spent 14 years as a 911 dispatcher - an experience that deepened her understanding of trauma, resilience, and the unique stressors faced by those who serve. Married to a police officer for ten years, Anntte's life was forever changed when her husband was killed in the line of duty in 2008. Her personal and professional experiences converge to create a deeply empathic and authentic approach to healing. Annette became a therapist in 2021 and opened her private practice in 2023. She is trained in EMDR and CISM and serves as an EMDR therapist at Post Critical Incident Seminars in Missouri. She also facilitates group therapy sessions and couples counseling, helping clients strengthen relationships and process complex grief and trauma. Annette is actively involved with Concerns of Police Survivors where she provides therapeutic support at National and Regional retreats for surviving family members and coworkers of officers who have died in the line of duty or by suicide. In addition to her work with the first responder community, she has experience supporting individuals with neurodivergence. A proud mother of three - now Agees 23, 21, and 16 - she brings warmth, authenticity and lived experience to every client she serves.
