Beth Salmo earned a M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Arkansas and has over 10 years of experience. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Missouri and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Illinois. Ms. Salmo is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP).
Beth owns Thin Line Counseling Services LLC, where she specializes in helping first responders and others with high occupational stress, as well as their loved ones. She is trained in and practices trauma-focused CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy); Prolonged Exposure therapy (for trauma); Cognitive Processing Therapy (for trauma); insomnia treatment (CBT-I); and works often with individuals presenting with anger, trauma, depression, anxiety/panic, grief, and moral injury. She will be attending EMDR training in August 2024.
Ms. Salmo actively supports the military and veteran communities. She is a Star Behavioral Health Provider through the Uniformed Services University and Purdue. Utilizing cutting-edge skills gleaned from consistent participation in continuing education, Beth is able to augment her skills so that she may help all warriors. She is married to a Marine (MSgt, retired). Beth sees people aged 18+.
Beth started her dream practice in late 2021 following the death of a former partner, who worked for many years in law enforcement. Having several friends and loved ones in public service roles - including being a law enforcement significant other for many years - Beth personally understands the issues and dynamics that can present in these relationships. Beth sees first responder clients out of her home in St. Peters, offers walk & talk sessions, and can see anyone anywhere virtually in MO and IL.
