John Clymore is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Kansas. He has over 20 years experience in the community mental health setting. John has been part of several implementation teams that created trauma-based therapeutic environments. He specializes in working with depression, anxiety, co-occurring diagnosis, PTSD, and the impacts of daily stressors. John has an extensive knowledge of therapeutic practices including CBT, Solution Focused, DBT, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing). John is currently a private practice provider and director of the internship program at Clinical Counseling Associates of Kansas City (CCAKC), a private practice located in Liberty, Missouri. He works with adolescents, couples, families, adults and first responders. In addition to providing individual therapy to first responders, John participates in critical incident debriefs, trainings, and serves as a volunteer for the Trauma Recovery Network (TRN) by providing pro bono services in the event of a first responder critical incident. He believes that providing services to first responders is a way to contribute to the community, since they constantly work to keep our community safe and make it a better place. John truly values his work with first responders and being part of CCAKC’s team that provides this important service.
