Bio
I am Susan Rhoads a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Missouri and owner of Peaceful Healing, LLC. I have almost two decades of helping individuals experiencing symptoms of PTSD and trauma. Susan uses a trauma-focused cognitive behavioral style of therapy. I specialize in working with First Responders to help them process stress, burnout, compassion fatigue, and grief, along with navigating other life-altering challenges. I began working directly with First Responders several years ago through an Access Crisis Intervention program where I became trained in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) and then I became involved in the CIT programs in the Southwest Region of Missouri. I have been very active in my local CIT and have taught many CIT trainings to various levels of LEO. My goal is to walk alongside my clients on their journey while ensuring they feel centered and clear, empowering them to perform at their best both at work and in their personal lives. Additionally, I work with Veterans and other Professionals experiencing symptoms related to stress and trauma (PTSD), empowering them to regain control and purpose in their lives. I bring a deep passion to my work, rooted in my own experiences and commitment to supporting mental health in our community. I work collaboratively with my clients, believing they know themselves better than I do. I specialize in trauma, depression, anxiety, stress management, life transitions, and substance use. I have extensive training in various such as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy. As a Certified Trauma Professional (CTP), I help clients address trauma in a focused, compassionate way. I challenge my clients to get to the deep things which sometimes means noticing the trauma they are feeling in their body. Since they are connected, what we feel in our brain, we feel in our body and vice versa. This may be difficult for some but also healing as well. Processing in this way has helped many of my clients to feel less stressed on the job and in their personal lives. Please reach out if I can help you or your department. I look forward to hearing from you!
